Makita launches sixth season with Suzuki

Jan. 12, 2010

Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high quality industrial power tools and accessories, has renewed its partnership with Suzuki Factory Racing for a sixth straight season.  Makita and Suzuki will be joined again by Rockstar Energy Drink.  Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing will sponsor teams across all Suzuki racing including Supercross, Motorcross, Superbike, and ATV.

2010 marks the sixth year of partnership between Makita and Suzuki, including last season when Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing claimed championships in Supercross, Motocross, Superbike, and ATV.
“It has been great to be involved with Makita, already six years now!” said Roger DeCoster, Suzuki Team Manager. “Makita is always working on improving the performance of their product, just like a top race team. That’s why our crews use Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion cordless tools in the garage and in the pits.”
“Our team raced hard all year in 2009, and the result was a string of championships,” said Brent Withey, Makita Senior Brand Manager. “These results speak to the talent and hard work of our athletes, and to the strength of our partnership. We look forward to more great racing in 2010, and with Dungey’s amazing performance on Saturday we’re off to a good start.”

In addition to its team sponsorship, Makita is also the 2010 Official Power Tool Sponsor of Supercross.  The 2010 Supercross season opened on Saturday in Anaheim, California, and Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey captured second place in a close battle with defending champ James Stewart.

Dungey is the 2009 champion in Supercross Lites and Motocross Lites, and is coming off a big win at the recent Motocross de Nations in Italy. Dungey is joined in 2010 by Rockstar Makita Suzuki teammates Matt Moss and Austin Stroupe.
