Wal-Mart Stores Inc., doing business as Walmart, doesn't claim it has the lowest prices. It does market them as "everyday low prices."
But the company sure does strive to have the lowest prices, even on tires.
Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich put together some interesting price comparisons based on Walmart's own flyers. The advertised prices were two-headed: The actual prices of the tires showed how much they have decreased over the last year, while the sales prices remained steady.
