Bosch and DSP form new 20 Group

Dec. 15, 2014

Dealer Strategic Planning Inc. (DSP) and Robert Bosch LLC are forming a new 20 Group exclusively for authorized Bosch Car Service shops. Bosch has selected the DSP 20 Group format to help its growing network of car service centers improve profitability.

“We admire the success of Norm Gaither’s 20 Group model in helping independent tire and service shops improve profits,” says Mark Polke, director, Service Workshop Concepts North America for Bosch. “After personally visiting a 20 Group in action, I saw how the concept can and will help Bosch Car Service (BCS) center owners make significant business improvements.”

Independent shops belonging to a 20 Group meet three times a year to discuss business issues with other service center owners and to share ideas for improvement. Andy Massoll, owner of Curt’s Service in Oak Park, Michigan and current BCS council member says, “Participation in my Automotive 20 Group has been my Master’s Degree in Automotive Management. I attribute a lot of our business’s success to the knowledge, best practices and financial composite data that has been gained by our participation in an Automotive 20 Group.”

Norm Gaither, DSP founder, welcomes the Bosch Car Service shops into the 20 Group fold. “It is so exciting to see our business expanding to this new category. We are confident that our team will provide the same added value to Bosch Car Service shops as we see with our tire and service shops.”

The first meeting for the Bosch 20 Group will be held in the first quarter of 2015 in Marietta, Ga., and will be hosted by Fred Massey, Massey Automotive.

DSP is now accepting applications from Bosch Car Service center owners who want to join the new 20 Group. The group is limited to 20 participants and authorized Bosch Car Service centers can submit applications online or contact DSP at 757-301-9897.

DSP offers tire and automotive service dealers the opportunity to share best practices, benchmark against the industry and improve financial performance.   Each group includes a maximum of 20 dealers, who meet three times a year to help each other improve their business performance.

Formed in 2007, DSP is the only tire-focused 20 group available in the industry. For more information, contact: Norm Gaither, 757-301-9897, [email protected] or Pat Brown, VP Marketing, 419-420-5915, [email protected].
