Jack Williams Tire Co. is piloting a training program for general service technicians with Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) in Nanticoke, Pa. Graduates receive Tire Industry Association (TIA) certification upon completion of the program.

In addition to extensive training for general service technicians, the program includes hands-on training on the latest Hunter Engineering Co. equipment, according to Brenden McCormick, service training manager and a certified TIA instructor for Jack Williams Tire.

“We are excited to roll out this program as a way to enhance the training level and career path for future employees,” says McCormick.

Susan Spry, the college’s vice president for workforce and community development, says the program will benefit students in several disciplines.

“We are looking forward to our partnership with Jack Williams Tire Company, which we hope will benefit students in LCCC's automotive, diesel engine technology, and other business-related programs.

"Our collaboration with Jack Williams Tire will assist LCCC through its participation on our industry advisory boards and through work-based learning and employment opportunities for our students,” she says.
