Toyo board announces changes

The board of directors of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has appointed Akira Nobuki as chairman, effective Nov. 1.

Nobuki is currently serving as company president. When he steps into the chairman position on Nov. 1, the following executives will take on new roles.

* Takuji Yamamoto, currently executive corporate office,r will become company president;

* Tetsuya Kuze, currently senior corporate officer, will become executive corporate officer, general manager of the corporate planning division and Toyo’s third representative director.

The board of directors says Nobuki is assuming the office of chairman “for reasons of health.”

Yamamoto will continue in his role as group executive officer of Toyo’s tire business.

The board says it is increasing the number of representative directors from two to three to strengthen its management system due to growth and expansion.
