Belle Tire Distributors Inc. has appointed Don Barnes III, 31, as president of retail operations.
He is the third generation of Barnes’ beginning with his grandfather, Don Barnes Sr. and, most recently, his father, Don Barnes Jr. The family purchased a portion of the business in the 1960s and by the early 1980s were the sole owners. The company expanded over the years and now operates more than 90 locations in Michigan and Ohio.
Barnes III will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at all retail stores. He will directly oversee the company’s commitment to top-shelf customer experience, lowest-tire-price-possible standards and continuation as one of Michigan’s outstanding family companies.
“The continued success of the company is my highest priority,” he says. “We want to have an even greater impact than years past, and I look forward to creating more growth and opportunities here at Belle Tire.”
Formerly, Barnes served as vice president of retail operations, a position to which he was named in October 2012.
Other previous roles include marketing director, a position to which he was named in June 2008. He led all aspects of the company’s marketing and advertising efforts.
He joined the company in 2005 as the operations and marketing manager after receiving a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Jeannie, currently reside in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
