The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is accepting applications for the 2015/2016 Michelin/TIA Scholarship from now to Jan. 21, 2015.
TIA says eligible applicants must meet three requirements:
1. Must be a high school senior planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational technical school;
2. Must be either a part-time employee or dependent child of a full-time employee of a TIA member tire dealer. Employees must be employed by the firm at the time of application; Michelin North America, Inc. employees and dependent children are not eligible.
3. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through spring 2014 semester.
Applicants must submit the requested information via the website or by mail no later than Jan. 21, 2015.
The Michelin/TIA scholarship has been awarded every year since 2000. Since inception, more than $250,000 has been awarded to 46 recipients who have gone on to attend accredited two-year, four-year, technical or vocational schools.
Once awarded, the recipients may renew the scholarship for up to three more years.
