Les Schwab takes top survey honors

Aug. 20, 2001

Les Schwab Tires has been ranked the top passenger and light truck tire retailer for the second year in a row by J.D. Power and Associates.

The rating is based on five criteria, say J.D. Power officials: people, service, facility, reputation and product selection.

"Les Schwab's ability to consistently deliver on the personnel and service factors, the largest contributing customer-driven factors to retailer satisfaction, fuels their leasing performance and their ability to retain customers," says Jeff Zupanic, director of J.D. Power's tire divison.

J.D. Power's self-funded Replacement Tire and Retailer Customer Satisfaction Study is based on more than 9,500 vehicle owners in the United States who have recently bought replacement tires for their vehicles.

Les Schwab Tires, based in Prineville, Ore., is the fourth largest independent tire store chain in North America with more than 240 outlets, according to Modern Tire Dealer data. It also boasts a distribution network of 80 member dealers. The company reported more than $1 billion in sales last year.
