Cooper unveils Discoverer for Canada
Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced an all-terrain, four-season tire exclusively to the Canadian market called the Discoverer X/T4.
Cooper says its new SUV/light truck offering is engineered specifically for Canadian drivers. Features designed for exceptional performance, confident handling and reliable tread wear while giving drivers the confidence of a winter tire include:
*an aggressive five-rib all-terrain tread pattern and optimized silica tread compound that increase wet grip and winter traction capabilities without sacrificing tread wear; and
*full-length, full-depth micro-gauge corrugated siping and proprietary Snowgroove 2.0 technology provide multiple biting edges to generate higher snow-on-snow traction and ice traction.
The company says the tire rated for severe snow conditions and bears the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol.
“Cooper is continuing to innovate by introducing high-quality products like the Discoverer X/T4, designed for truck and SUV owners who work and play hard, in all four seasons,” says Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s director of product management.
“The X/T4 fills a void in the Canadian marketplace by presenting consumers with a reliable product that works equally well pulling the boat out in July, as it does pulling the sleds down a snow covered road in January.”
The company says stone ejector ribs that help resist stone drilling and twin tie-bars for added stability are strategically placed on the Discoverer X/T4 to support a longer tread life. These attributes provide a quieter, more controlled ride for consumers making their way through mud, sand, rocks and loose soil.
The all-terrain, severe weather rated tire is available in 23 SUV and light truck sizes. All sizes come with an tread wear protection warranty up to 100,000 kilometers for SUVs and 85,000 kilometers for light trucks.
The Discoverer X/T4 will be distributed exclusively in Canada by Cooper Tire dealers.
