Aug. 28, 2014

The executive changes in Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s consumer tire business continues.

Just one day after announcing the hiring of Richard Kellam as senior vice president of global sales and marketing, Goodyear has appointed Jack Winterton vice president responsible for driving sales and marketing excellence globally. Winterton was previously president of Goodyear's North America Tire consumer business unit.

In his new position, which will be effective Sept. 1, 2014, Winterton will help lead the alignment of Goodyear’s "customer-facing capabilities" around the world in the development of a global sales and marketing operating system. He will report to Kellam.

“Jack brings not only industry and customer expertise to this team, but also organizational credibility and respect,” says Richard Kramer, Goodyear’s chairman, CEO and president. “His perspective and experience will be essential to driving integrated sales and marketing processes, as we work from the market back to enhance the customer and consumer experience.”

Winterton has spent his entire career with Goodyear in customer-facing roles, including more than a decade developing and executing the strategic direction for Goodyear’s consumer business in North America. He was named president of the North American Tire consumer business unit in 2011.

Winterton will be succeeded by Ryan Patterson, vice president of consumer operations and customer development. He will report to Steve McClellan, president Goodyear's North American Tire business unit.

In his new role, Patterson, who joined Goodyear in 2002, will be responsible for management and operation of the company’s largest product business unit globally.

“Ryan is a proven customer advocate, has a firm understanding of the business overall and a detailed knowledge of its customer and the consumer market,” says McClellan.

Kellam, a 28-year sales and marketing veteran, will join Goodyear effective Sept. 22, 2014. Most recently, he served as global chief customer officer with Mars Inc., a job he had held since 2009.
