Apollo opens Apollo Zone in Kuwait

Aug. 21, 2014

Apollo Tyres Ltd. recently made further inroads into the Kuwait market with the opening up of it first branded retail outlet, Apollo Zone, in the country.

The outlet (pictured) was designed to provide customers with "an enhanced retail experience and a better feel for the brand and (consumer) products on display," according to the company. This Apollo Zone is located in an up-scale market on Canada Dry St. in Kuwait, and is operated by the Federal General Trading & Contracting Co.

The Apollo Zone was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Shubashis Goldar, Kuwait's deputy chief of mission and chief public information officer; and Dr. Sushil Kumar, India's second secretary (Political, Economic & Commercial) at the Embassy of India in Kuwait. Also present on the occasion was Satish Sharma, president of Apollo's Asia Pacific, Middle East & North Africa Region.

“We see a lot of potential in the entire Middle East region, including Kuwait, where the growth is being witnessed in the high end and mid-segment cars," said Sharma at the inauguration. "We would like to create a space for ourselves in the Kuwait market, which has a size of 75,000 to 85,000 passenger vehicle tires a month.

"Branded retail outlets, such as the one which we have opened today here in Kuwait, will help us increase visibility for the Apollo brand, and will also result in a better and informed buying experience for the consumers.”

Apollo describes an Apollo Zone outlet as a "modern, up-market retail format for selling tires." They feature "ample visual appeal," comfort and convenience to customers, with product information in the showroom.

"They, thus, bridge the gap between tires being a low involvement category product and the need for expert guidance, to enable customers to buy the right tires, suited to their vehicle and driving style," adds Apollo.

After Dubai, this is the second branded retail outlet by Apollo in the Middle East region.
