TIA Offers Three Training Classes for Technicians

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is offering three in-person, hands-on training classes in September and October for automotive, commercial and earthmover tire technicians.

The Advanced Hands-on Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) training class will take place Sept. 27-30 in Garner, Iowa. The course offers hands-on training, using a service truck, hydraulic tools and a variety of equipment that can aid technicians in servicing tires. Attendees who complete the four-day class will receive a Certificate of Completion. Course tuition is $595.

The Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) class, which is a 300-level and 400-level certification program, will be held Oct. 4-7 in Louisville, Ky. The class provides instruction on the recommended procedures for servicing passenger and light truck tires. Those who pass the four-day class will be certified as Advanced ATS Instructors, allowing them to certify ATS instructors and technicians in the field. Course tuition is $950.

The Certified 400-level Commercial Tire Service (CTS) class will take place Oct. 11-14, also in Louisville, Ky. The instructor class covers all aspects of medium/heavy truck tire service and also teaches attendees how to instruct a 300-Level Certified Technician course in the field. Coursework consists of 18 modules, including OSHA requirements, wheel service and torque and more. Course Tuition is $950.
