Maxam Tire North America Inc. has unveiled a new, solid OTR tire, the MS708, which is designed for waste and scrap metal industry applications.
With those industries "becoming more demanding than ever, Maxam's experts took the previous generations of solid tires and innovated a product that has been evolved to deliver only the best results in performance, durability and reliability," say company officials.
"Featuring an innovative, high-traction and wearable tread pattern with 50% tread rubber, the MS708 delivers the deepest wearable tread in the market. Increasing its footprint as it wears and transitions through four distinct tread patterns, the MS708 ends in standard L5 pattern to provide maximum tire life.
"Incorporating a 25% heat dissipating body, the MS708 delivers effective heat dissipation and superior ride quality."
The tire also features all-rubber, three-stage construction, providing optimal heat and cut resistance and "superior ride comfort. With a 65-durometer center compounding, the MS708 dissipates heat faster for extended operation.
"Designed with patented Double-D apertures that decrease stress crack in the tire and absorb shocks, the MS708 provides the comfort operators need while delivering maximum productivity."
Maxam officials report that the MS708 is manufactured "using technologically advanced equipment and a proprietary building and curing process," which eliminates "tread separation and delamination defects - such as trapped air between rubber layers and porosity - for extended wear rates."
