May 18, 2023

Bridgestone Americas Inc.'s commercial truck and bus tire plant in Warren County, Tenn., has earned its sixth Volunteer STAR (Safety Through Accountability and Recognition) award.

"The Volunteer STAR Award is the state’s highest honor for workplace safety and health and is a nationally recognized program patterned after the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)," according to a statement from Bridgestone.

There are currently 33 Volunteer STAR sites in Tennessee.

"The standard for participation in the STAR program confirms a company’s safety and health program helps reduce accidents and injuries."

Last August, Bridgestone Americas Inc. announced plans to invest $550 million in the commercial truck and bus tire plant that would expand the facility by 850,000 square feet in order to support the increased capacity. (Click here to read more.)
