ITC to Study if China TBR Tariffs Should Stay
It’s been five years since tariffs were imposed on truck and bus tires made in China and that means it’s time for the International Trade Commission to review whether those tariffs should remain in place.
Parties who want to weigh in on the issue have until Feb. 1 to do so.
In February 2019 both anti-dumping and countervailing duties were imposed on truck and bus tires from China. At the time, the anti-dumping tariffs of 9% were imposed on most producers, while countervailing rates ranged from 20.98 to 63.34%.
And as is the case with any tariff investigation, at the five-year mark the commission studies whether revoking the tariffs would cause a recurrence of injury to the domestic industry.
