Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) has hired Ydo Doornbos as director of North America. He will lead efforts to bring the company's agriculture, material handling and construction tires to the North American market.
Doornbos' career in the tire industry spans 29 years, most of it with Trelleborg Wheel Systems. He began as an intern in 1995 with Monarch Industrial Tires and became a regional sales and operations manager for the Monarch brand in Europe. He returned to the U.S. in 2005 and served several roles over the years and in 2019 was promoted to regional president of North and Central America for agriculture, material handling and construction tires.
In 2022 he moved to American Pacific Industries (API) and worked as vice president of business development, and in joining GRI he returns to the specialty tires business.
