Yokohama Adds Size to Waste Haul Tire

Yokohama Tire Corp. has added a new size, 445/50R22.5, to its 716 U wide-base tire for waste haul and other severe-service applications.

Yokohama will display the tire inside its TMC trade show booth (#744) next week in Nashville, Tenn.

“With its reliable all-season traction, high-scrub tread compound and durable construction, it really is the perfect drive tire for the job,” says Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s senior manager of commercial product planning. “This expansion into the 445/50R22.5 opens other segments that require high-scrub protection – regional and urban P&D, for example – so fleets can really reap the benefits that the 716U UWB brings to their bottom line.”

Features of the tire include a Load Range of M for increased load carrying capacity; zig-zag grooves that provide optimal traction and wet surface grip; an advanced compound that resists scrubbing, chipping and cutting for long tread life; a zero-degree belt for added stability; and more.
