Ascenso Unveils Its First Skid Steer Tire
Ascenso Tires North America (ATNA) has introduced the SSS 340, its first tire engineered for skid steer applications in industrial and construction environments.
"Designed for severe-duty applications, the SSS 340 delivers enhanced durability, consistent traction and thermal stability in operations where pneumatic tires are susceptible to damage, resulting in equipment downtime," say ATNA officials.
"The SSS 340 is purpose-built for industrial, construction, dairy operation, waste and recycling applications, where extreme loads, sharp debris and continuous duty cycles are common.
"The Ascenso SSS 340 combines advanced tread architecture, optimized aperture geometry and a premium solid rubber compound to ensure predictable performance and extended service life in aggressive worksites."
The tire features a deep, maximum overlap tread pattern with a high solid-to-void ratio, "engineered to provide strong traction on loose, uneven and debris-laden surfaces. The self-cleaning tread design actively ejects waste material, mud and construction debris, maintaining consistent contact and traction during forward, reverse and pivoting skid steer operations."
A specially engineered sidewall aperture design enhances ride comfort and thermal management by absorbing shock loads from rigid or uneven surfaces; reducing vibration transmitted to the machine and operator; and promoting airflow to help disperse heat during long, continuous operating cycles. "This design mitigates heat-related cracking and structural fatigue, improving tire longevity in high-duty applications," add ATNA officials.
In addition, the SSS 340 is manufactured with a premium abrasion-resistant solid rubber compound designed to withstand cuts and punctures from sharp debris; chunking and tearing in high-impact environments; and accelerated wear in abrasive conditions.
"To support faster installation and minimize machine downtime, Ascenso Tires also offers the SSS 340 as a complete wheel-and-tire assembly, providing a turnkey solution for dealers, rental fleets, and end users without requiring solid tire pressing equipment at the jobsite."
The new Ascenso SSS 340 is backed by a two-year warranty, "underscoring Ascenso’s commitment to product quality, durability and performance in severe-duty skid steer applications."
