Michelin Adds AI Assistant to Connected Fleet Platform

The Michelin AI Assistant is designed to help fleets access real-time insights on fuel use, vehicle downtime, driver behavior and tire maintenance needs.

Key Highlights

  • The AI Assistant responds to queries about fuel efficiency, maintenance, vehicle status and costs within the MyConnectedFleet platform.
  • It is co-developed with major customers to ensure intuitive interaction and data security in a closed system environment.
  • The tool integrates seamlessly with Michelin’s other connected solutions like onboard cameras and tire wear inspection technology.

Michelin Connected Fleet has added an artificial intelligence assistant to its MyConnectedFleet platform.

The Michelin AI Assistant is designed to help fleet managers quickly access operational insights using fleet usage data. According to Michelin officials, the tool can answer questions, generate reports and identify trends within the MyConnectedFleet web platform.

The assistant can respond to questions such as which drivers have been the most fuel-efficient during a given month, which trucks need tire maintenance, how many vehicles are currently off the road and what a fleet’s fuel consumption costs are.

Michelin says the tool is designed as a closed system to help protect data confidentiality. It is aimed at managers of heavy goods vehicle, passenger transport and light commercial vehicle fleets and provides insights related to fuel consumption, driver behavior and journey data.

“The AI Assistant is the natural evolution of our DNA, which is built around supporting our customers,” said Sophie Foucque, CEO of Michelin Connected Fleet, Europe, Africa and Australia. “Co-developed with some of our largest customers, it offers a more intuitive way to interact with vehicle usage data, while removing the need to generate multiple reports. Augmented fleet managers can therefore focus fully on the performance of their operations.”

Michelin says the assistant is accessible through the MyConnectedFleet web portal and can provide immediate answers to questions related to safety, costs, reporting and trends. Responses can be delivered in text or visual form and are based on real-time data.

The launch comes as fleet operators continue to look for ways to use connected vehicle data to improve uptime, control costs and streamline daily operations. For tire dealers and commercial service providers, tools that surface tire maintenance needs, underinflation alerts and vehicle downtime data could become increasingly important as fleets seek more proactive maintenance support.

Michelin says the AI assistant can be combined with other Michelin Connected Fleet solutions, including intelligent onboard cameras, automatic tire wear inspection technology and underinflation alerts.

The Michelin AI Assistant is currently available to Michelin Connected Fleet customers in the United Kingdom, United States, France, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Italy.

Michelin Connected Fleet says its customers represent approximately 300 million journeys per year across Europe, North America and South America, connecting 660,000 vehicles operated by 70,000 customers in 48 countries.
