TRIB Announces Scholarship Recipients

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) has announced the recipients of this year's Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship.
David Johnson of Franktown, Colo., and Barret Schmidt of Round Mountain, Texas, took home scholarship honors and an accompanying $500 each for their "academic promise, technical aptitude and dedication to advancing the retreading and transportation industries," according to TRIB officials. TRIB, with the support of its members, established The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid to students who are pursuing education or training in the tire, transportation or automotive fields.
"It is a privilege to welcome David and Barret as our second class of Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship recipients,” says David Stevens, TRIB's managing director.
“Marvin devoted his career to elevating standards, education and professionalism within the tire retread industry. Building on last year’s inaugural awards, these students continue to embody the same drive for excellence and commitment to craftsmanship that defined his legacy.
"Throughout his distinguished career, Marvin Bozarth was widely respected for his leadership and technical expertise in the tire retreading and repair industry. His work at both the Tire Industry Association (TIA) and TRIB advanced training, safety and industry best practices, shaping generations of professionals and technicians.
"The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded to carry forward that legacy by supporting the education and skill development of emerging professionals entering the automotive and transportation trades. Applicants were evaluated based on their academic performance, demonstrated passion for the field and commitment to long-term career growth within the industry.
"With this second year of awards, the fund continues its long-term commitment to workforce development in the transportation sector. With continued industry and individual support, the fund intends to expand its reach in future years, increasing both the number and value of awards available to deserving students."
