Nokian Tyres has launched its new Forest King TRS 3 forestry tire range, which the company confirms will be offered in the U.S.

The Forest King TRS 3 is the next generation of Nokian Tyres’ Forest King TRS traction tire for cut-to-length (CTL) forestry equipment. The new lineup includes 15 sizes and features structural and tread updates designed to improve durability while maintaining traction and lateral grip in demanding forestry applications.

Updates include reinforced and thicker lugs, increased material thickness and a redesigned shoulder structure. The tire also uses a diagonal structure with steel fortification for puncture protection.

Nokian Tyres says a wider lug design, additional terrace and increased shoulder roundness are intended to improve durability during heavy-duty use.

The company also designed the Forest King TRS 3 for forestry applications that use tracks and chains. Changes to the shoulder and lug design are intended to improve track-to-tire contact, while wide lugs, additional shoulder lift and optimized shoulder roundness support track and chain use.

“Our development work is based on listening to customers and observing tire performance in real forestry conditions. Long-term testing and direct customer feedback ensure that each improvement reflects practical field experience,” says Teemu Vainionpää, senior product manager at Nokian Tyres.

Nokian Tyres says the tire was tested over several years with end users in forestry operating environments.

The Forest King TRS 3 will be available as a complete wheel package with a matching heavy-duty wheel and inner tube.

The new generation is compatible with its predecessor, allowing existing wheels, tubes, tracks and chains to be used with the Forest King TRS 3.

Among the additions to the lineup are a 780/55-30.5 size designed to provide higher traction and load capacity and a narrower 650/60-26.5 size intended especially for harvesters.

Nokian Tyres manufactures its heavy tires, retreads and wheels in Finland.
