Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has unveiled new tread designs for mixed service and regional applications. They include:

* The G287 MSA, which feature an open center lug design for enhanced wear in high scrub applications and an optimized tread design for traction. The tread is available in 8.5-inch and 9.875-inch widths, and it has a tread depth of 26/32-inch.

* The G282 MSD, which combines regional performance with off-road capabilities. The tread is available for both UniCircle and flat retreads. A 26/32-inch tread depth helps improve mileage as well as deliver off-road and wet traction, say Goodyear officials.

* The G558 WTD, which has been engineered for winter conditions. It features TredLock Technology with interlocking microgrooves that help provide biting edges for traction. The tread is available in 8.5- and 9-inch widths, and has a tread depth of 25/32-inch

In addition, Dave Beasly, Goodyear's director of commercial tire sales, reports that the company's FleetHQ Solution Center has helped get 62,000 trucks back up and running since its inception.
