Marangoni SpA, in partnership with Continental AG, is marketing the ContiTread HDW Scandinavia, a new extreme winter retread pattern for truck tires.
Produced in Germany by Marangoni, the precured tread strips have been specifically designed for the needs of northern European countries, where vehicles frequently travel on roads covered by snow or ice -- and where the temperatures are very ow for many months of the year.
The HDW Scandinavia will not be available in the United States or Canada.
The extensively layered, multiblock tread pattern is designed to grip in water, snow and ice. The HDW Scandinavia also features special tread compounds "that are perfect for all winter weather conditions," says the company.
The tread will be available to "all resellers of truck tires that do business with (Continental)" once Marangoni receives approval from Continental.
