Continental Hires John Cox to Support ContiLifeCycle Retreaders
Retreading veteran John Cox will work with ContiLifeCycle retreaders across the globe in a newly created role for Continental AG. Cox, who has more than 20 years of experience working on both the corporate and manufacturing side of retreading, will serve as head of global technical services for Continental. His focus will be to support the 60 ContiTread retread shops worldwide, half of which are located in the U.S. and Canada. The company says two of its U.S. partners, Piedmont Truck Tires and Conlan Tire, opened additional locations in 2018.
“We are partnering with our retread shops around the world to maximize productivity and quality and to drive process innovation,” says Catherine Loss, Continental’s global head of retread. “Optimizing each shops’ processes and systems allows us to deliver the superior quality and service levels that our global fleet customers expect, so they can achieve the lowest overall driving cost.”
Continental says Cox's experience as both a supplier and customer gives him a unique perspective on how to implement practical improvements throughout the retreading process. He has also supported the development of IT software solutions for retread manufacturing, ensuring that Continental’s systems will continue to support the needs of ContiLifeCycle partners.
