Harold Vischer Sr., former executive vice president for Bandag Inc., has died. He was 95.
Vischer worked for more than 20 years at Bandag in Muscatine, Iowa, retiring in 1980. Prior to that he worked for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. for 20 years as vice president of sales.
Vischer was "critical to the development of Bandag in its infancy," says the company. He was inducted into the American Retreaders Association (now part of the Tire Industry Association) Hall of Fame in 1988.
Vischer leaves three sons, Harold Vischer Jr., Robert Vischer and Michael Vischer, two girls he and his wife raised as daughters, Jackie Matthews and Cynthia Harvey, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren and other relatives.
Service will be held Saturday, July 24, at the Irish Hills Community Church in Onsted, Mich.
