Apollo's Hungary Truck Tire Plant Is Producing Tires

Sept. 24, 2018

Apollo Tyres Ltd.'s Hungarian truck tire facility is officially up and running. The first tires produced by the plant, Apollo Endurace RT HD tires in size 385/65R22.5, have been delivered to Piessens and Zonen from Londerzeel, Belgium, a company specializing in the transporting construction materials.

"We are pleased with the excellent price/quality ratio of these Apollo tires,” said Patrick and Danny Piessens, owners of the Belgian company. "Prior to making the purchase, we carried out very stringent tests, and the results showed all the characteristics of a premium tire. The majority of our trucks and trailers have now been fitted with Apollo truck tires."

Apollo started supplying Apollo brand truck tires to clients in Europe in 2017. All the truck tires have at least a C-label for fuel consumption and an A-label for wet conditions, "which is a unique performance for premium truck tires," says the company.

Apollo is also backing the tire with a five-year warranty on any manufacturing issues, "and a buy-back guarantee for the carcass, as they can be retreaded multiple times."

The Hungarian unit in the Gyongyoshalasz region of Hungary is Apollo’s second production facility in Europe, and sixth worldwide. The production capacity continues to be ramped up on a daily basis in this facility, and will reach the planned capacity for Phase I by 2019.
