ExxonMobil Chemical Co. will host Tire Symposium 2012 in Xi’an, China, on Sept. 18. The event is open to companies and organizations interested in keeping up to date on the trends and technologies that are impacting the tire industry.
Sponsored exclusively by ExxonMobil, this is the sixth symposium since its inauguration in 2000.
“This event will provide valuable insights into the trends that may affect the future of the tire industry," says John Lyon, global vice president, Global Butyl Polymers Business Unit, ExxonMobil Chemical.
Topics will highlight certain potential opportunities and challenges faced by the tire industry.
1. "Energy Outlook 2012" will look at the trends that may impact global energy supply and demand over the coming decades.
2. "Global Tire Trends" will provide an in-depth analysis of the market.
3. Worldwide Tire Survey will discuss certain current tire designs and the importance of inflation pressure retention.
4. Industry Performance Standards will discuss information regarding government regulatory actions relating to tires.
ExxonMobil's contributions to the automotive industry will be promoted in "Automotive Sustainability," which will cover ExxonMobil Chemical technology innovations that are helping the industry meet its sustainability challenges; and "Bringing Technology Capabilities Closer to Market, which will look at the company’s long-term commitment to support Asia Pacific customers.
