Jack Williams Tire Co. celebrated its 80th year in business this past weekend with its annual meeting and trade show in Moosic, Pa.

More than 600 customers and their families attended the event, which showcased the dealership's new, 50,000-square-foot warehouse addition. The trade show featured more than 25 suppliers.

More than $50,000 in prizes were given away, including a go-cart, a 51-inch TV set and other items.

"The event was an overwhelming success" and a record for Jack Williams Tire, says Chairman and CEO Bill Williams.

"We exceeded our goals for attendance and sales. Our dealers were able to tour the facility and see what we're all about. Our vendors were surprised by the turn-out an by the record numbers of orders that were placed.

"It is especially encouraging to see that in a downturned economy, so many independent tire dealers are making the investment in their equipment, inventory and ultimately, their business."

Bill Williams was Modern Tire Dealer's Tire Dealer of the Year in 2006.
