Toyo Tire Japan Co. Ltd. and Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will man booths at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon Jan. 10-12. The event will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Makuhari, Chiba, Japan.
Toyo Tire Japan, a subsidiary of Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd., will showcase two new lines in the Tranpath family. They will be available next year.
1. Tranpath Lu II, a luxury minivan tire. It targets large-sized, upscale minivans. As the successor to Tranpath Lu (released in 2005), this tire “offers the pinnacle of silence and comfort, providing high-quality movement space befitting a luxury minivan,” according to Toyo. It will be available in Japan on Jan. 14.
2. Tranpath LuK, a light car premium tire designed for Japan’s growing light car market. The LuK “prevents swaying and uneven wear common in taller light cars and achieves stable driving and a superior long-lasting durability.” It will be available in Japan on March 14.
The Yokohama exhibit will showcase the high performance of the company's global flagship brand of Advan tires, “with a special focus on further penetrating the dress-up user market and enhancing the brand's appeal to younger drivers,” says the company. Two of the tires, the Advan Sport V105 and Advan Neova AD08R, which were launched in the United States last July.
Lotteries will be held at the Yokohama booth to award Advan goods to lucky booth visitors. It also will feature a concierge counter where visitors can get advice on the tires and wheels best-suited to their preferences.
The Tokyo Auto Salon has been held every year since 1983. In 2013, the event featured a record 450 exhibiting companies and drew more than 280,000 visitors. In 2014, expanded exhibition space will make Tokyo Auto Salon one of the world's largest custom car events.
