Pirelli responds to tire tariff decision

June 22, 2015

When the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) recently re-calculated anti-dumping and countervailing duty rates on consumer tires produced in China and exported to the U.S., tire manufacturers with plants in China were affected by varying degrees.

Pirelli Tire North America Inc. was not one of the companies directly affected, according to Chairman and CEO Pierluigi Dinelli.

"We at Pirelli already moved everything from China to other factories," he said.

"As far as the market is concerned, we do not think this new level of tariffs is going to drastically modify the situation as it is today... the segments impacted are less significant for us."
