Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. will continue as the Official Tire of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) through 2015.
The Toyo Proxes RA1 first became the spec tire for select racing classes in 2002. In addition, Toyo Tires returns as the title sponsor of the NASA Championships at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course.
“Toyo Tires is proud to support NASA and the amateur racers who put their cars through the paces every weekend,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “NASA provides a great platform which offers everything from high performance driving events, to time trial and wheel-to-wheel competition with a wide variety of car classes. With our extensive tire line-up, we have the products to match.”
Toyo Tires will also increase the payouts in its NASA contingency program, long considered one of the most lucrative in amateur road racing. Drivers in 13 different spec classes, as well as time trial and non-Toyo spec classes, are eligible to earn Toyo Bucks when they win on Toyo tires. Details can be found on the NASA website at www.nasaproracing.com/contingency.
"We are delighted to renew our partnership with Toyo Tires for several more years. They have been an incredible partner for more than a decade and we have found their product to be a perfect fit for many of our most popular classes,” said Ryan Flaherty, National Chairman of NASA. “We have worked very hard to offer the most lucrative contingency program available to grassroots racers, and with more than two million dollars up for grabs, Toyo Tires proves they are 100% committed to NASA racers."
Toyo Tires offers street-legal competition tires, including the r-compound Proxes R888 and the Proxes RA1. The company also provides the 140-treadwear Proxes R1R. For more information visit www.toyotires.com.
