Federal gets promotional push through motorsports

Federal Corp. has been busy promoting the Federal brand worldwide through its participation in motorsports -- and YouTube.

The company debuted its dedicated online video portal in February. “Utilizing the social media communication approach as a premier platform for the distribution of our high quality, fully featured footage of events in all forms of motorsports, we are excited about providing a place where performance enthusiasts, racing aficionados, customers and friends can connect online and develop a unique Federal community,” says the company.

As part of its 2010 marketing strategy, Federal is running an electronic advertising campaign “in a fully integrated manner with major media outlets to promote our video series by embedding them via banner ads, weekly e-newsletters, and on pages of our official Web site.”

In March, Federal also announced it was the official tire supplier of the United States Legend Cars Asphalt Racing series for 2010. The company will supply Federal SS595 tires to the drivers.

It is the first event sponsorship for Federal and U.S. Legend Cars, says Federal CEO Jamie Ma. “We are confident the outreach will help promote Federal brand across the states as we are undertaking the task of advancing the sport of Legends Car racing.”

Federal also sponsors teams in other motorsports series. It is off to a fast start this year, finishing first in the Australian Rally Championship’s Tasmania Rally in late February. Drivers Steve Glenny and Alan Stean won in the "Modern" category on size 235/45R17 Federal Corsa FZ-201 tires.
