Up to $100,000 is up for grabs this December 2-5 at the first-ever Superfinals event in Las Vegas, hosted by the EXR Racing Series. Registration is now open to all drivers who want to put their talent to the test.
"It doesn't matter where you come from, this is the race that will identify the best driver in the world," said Romain Thievin, EXR Racing Series co-founder and creator of the Superfinals event. "There is one track, the cars are all the same: everything is equal for all — except the talent. It will be the fastest driver who has the chance to prove they're the best in the world and take home as much as $100,000."
The event pits drivers from across motorsport disciplines against each other in identical EXR LV02 racing cars for a series of heat races over four days. The suspense builds as the fastest racers advance through the competition. On the final day, the 18 drivers who are the best of the best will face each other on the track for the first time.
With this special event open to all comers, the contest could see IndyCar pros face sports car racers and up-and-coming go kart drivers side-by-side on the start line with rallycross stars.
It's all arrive-and-drive, with no vehicle preparation, transport or maintenance required. The Superfinals cars and course will be constant, eliminating uncertainty and leaving talent and driving skill to determine the winner.
"Some hidden talent is going to come out of the woodwork for this event," said David Perisset, co-founder of the EXR Racing Series. "This is the opportunity of a lifetime for a driver who has what it takes to be a champion but who has never had the chance to shine."
The Superfinals racing car is the EXR LV02, a vehicle that is as easy and fun to drive as it is rewarding — for novices and pros alike. Front engine and rear-wheel drive, the car is a proven performer in Europe's MitJet Series. It features a sedan-style body over a tube-frame chassis, a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shift, and an enviable power-to-weight ratio. The EXR Racing Series has recently taken delivery of its fleet of these brand new vehicles.
The event will serve as a four-day celebration of speed at Exotics Racing Las Vegas to send off the 2015 motorsport season. An anticipatory festive spirit is sure to develop as the intensity ramps up toward the final race.
Family and friends may join racers at the Las Vegas facility where they can mingle with drivers and enjoy the hospitality of a comfortable paddock club, while taking in the on-track action from the best viewing locations. The Superfinals event's close ties to the Exotics Racing supercars experience also offers participants and guests the opportunity to enjoy the in-house fleet of incredible cars. The Las Vegas venue assures a spectacular vacation opportunity for drivers and their guests. Off the track, visitors can enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer, from its glittering casinos and shopping, to high-end spas and amazing restaurants.
Each race day ends with an at-track reception for the presentation of results. The event concludes with a gala dinner and awards presentation to crown the first-ever Superfinals winner.
The purse will be awarded on a unique sliding scale that increases the prize based on how difficult it is to win. If there are up to 50 drivers, the purse is set at $25,000. At the 51st entry, the prize doubles to $50,000. If more than 76 drivers enter, a big $75,000 will be on offer and, at 100 entrants, the prize purse grows to a hefty $100,000.
The Superfinals event is a standalone contest hosted by the team at the new EXR Racing Series, the series that realizes a new vision for car racing that is accessible and hassle-free. The new arrive-and-drive EXR Racing Series provides the place for people to realize their lifelong racing dreams. The series hosts 12 race weekends per season at its purpose-built tracks in Las Vegas and in Los Angeles, as well as special visits to other tracks. Drivers pick a schedule that fits them and their best results count toward the championship. Sprint races start at $4,990 per driver and endurance races start at $4,995 per driver (for a two-driver team).
Drivers wishing to compete in the EXR Racing Series Superfinals event must obtain a license from the EXR Racing Series or demonstrate equivalent motorsport experience. The Las Vegas facility is open between now and December for those drivers wishing to book track time in the EXR LV02 to practice ahead of the big event.
