Hankook's Forsberg Finishes Second At The Gauntlet

June 20, 2016

Hankook Tire driver Chris Forsberg brought home another podium finish this past weekend at Formula Drift Round 4: The Gauntlet.

The two-time Formula Drift champion finished in second place overall at the competitive event at Wall Speedway in New Jersey.

Drivers and crews were able to overcome the extreme heat for an eventful and exciting weekend. Forsberg, who raced in his signature Hankook Tire/Nissan 370Z, edged out Ken Gushi in the semifinals to secure a second place finish.

“It was a hard-fought weekend at Wall Speedway and we got all the way to the final round through a series of tough battles, on track collisions and lots of tire wear,” said Forsberg. “The Hankook Ventus R-S3 provided us consistent reliability through all the rounds which ultimately allowed us to get into the final round and solidified our 2nd place finish.”

Forsberg’s third consecutive podium finish and first second place finish of the year places him in third place in the 2016 Pro Championship standings.

“We worked very closely with Chris and his team all weekend, providing tire assistance to ensure Chris was getting maximum performance out of his Hankook Ventus RS-3s.  Chris and his team were absolutely amazing in their efforts to overcome the challenges presented, and they never skipped a beat,” said Donato Bonacquisto, Hankook Tire Motorsports Marketing Manager. “We are very happy with Chris’ outcome, and this second place result definitely helps us close the gap ever further in the Championship Standings.”
