Goodyear Tire Notes: Sonoma

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series  Race No. 16 – Toyota / SaveMart 350
Sonoma Raceway (1.99-mile road course) – Sonoma, Calif., June 24-26, 2016

Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will run the same Goodyear tire code (D-4678) on all four tire positions at Sonoma, which is the first time teams will be running this code. Compared to what was run at Sonoma last year, this tire features a decrease in tread gage (thickness and teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Sonoma.
 
Wet Weather Tires: Goodyear will bring its wet weather radials (D-4215) for use at Sonoma, should NASCAR decide that conditions warrant their use. Teams are allowed up to three sets of "wets" for practice/qualifying and up to three sets for the race. This tire code was last run by NASCAR Xfinity Series teams at Road America in 2014.
 
Goodyear will run its D-2265 in the K&N Series race at Sonoma this weekend on all four tire positions. This code is also run at the K&N East/West’s other road courses.  Teams are allowed three sets of tires for this weekend's event  two for practice and one for qualifying/race. Goodyear will also bring its D-3070 tire code for K&N teams to run in wet conditions, should NASCAR decide that conditions warrant.
