Key Highlights
- Dunlop Motorsport will field a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the 24H Nürburgring.
- The team says Nürburgring Endurance Series races helped provide tire and setup data ahead of the event.
- Additional teams will compete on Dunlop tires, extending the brand’s presence at the race.
Dunlop Motorsport is preparing for one of the biggest endurance racing events of the season, giving Dunlop dealers another motorsports initiative to point to when discussing the brand’s racing involvement.
The ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring will take place May 14-17 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany. Dunlop Motorsport will field a Porsche 911 GT3 R, running as No. 17, in the race.
The race car will be driven by Julien Andlauer and Dorian Boccolacci of France, Alessio Picariello of Belgium and Nico Menzel of Germany. The four-driver lineup brings a mix of international GT experience and Nordschleife track knowledge to the effort.
Dunlop says its preparation for the 24-hour race included competition in the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series, where the team collected data and secured a top-10 overall finish in its first race following a weather-related postponement of the season opener.
The company says continued setup work on the Porsche 911 GT3 R, combined with additional insights into Dunlop tire performance, will help support the team during the 24-hour event.
Those conditions are especially important at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where weather, grip levels and traffic can change throughout the race. Dunlop says consistency, precision and race strategy will be critical to the team’s performance.
Other teams competing on Dunlop tires include Saugmotoren Motorsport, which will run the No. 36 BMW Z4 E89, and BLACK FALCON Team FANATEC, in cooperation with Gran Turismo, which will field the No. 632 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
BLACK FALCON’s driver lineup includes Manuel Metzger, Misha Charoudin, Steve Brown and Jimmy Broadbent.
Dunlop also will have a fan activation at the event, including Gran Turismo simulators and a historic Porsche 962 C from the Porsche Museum. The Porsche competed in all five Supercup races in 1987 and won the championship title.
The 24H Nürburgring will begin tomorrow.
