Kyle LeDuc and Toyo Tires win seventh Pro 4 Unlimited race

Aug. 29, 2012

Team Toyo’s Kyle LeDuc won Round 11 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in the Pro 4 Unlimited class this past weekend on a new racetrack located in the hills outside Sparks, Nevada.   It marks LeDuc’s seventh win in the 16-race season while driving his 900+ horsepower Monster Energy / Toyo Tires Ford F-150.  Part of LeDuc’s competitive advantage is his Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires.
LeDuc easily captured the number one qualifying spot both Friday and Saturday.  During Saturday’s Pro 4 Unlimited class main event, he turned in the best lap with a 53.042 time at 81.445-mph.  Late in the race, a shock mount broke, delivering a pounding to both driver and truck until the checkered flag came out.  LeDuc showed his toughness by still capturing the number one spot on the podium.
After making repairs overnight, LeDuc returned for Sunday’s Pro 4 Unlimited main event.  Sunday’s race proved even harder as the punishing Wild West Motorsports Park track delivered even more extension damage to the rear suspension.  LeDuc was forced to go into survival mode to get his truck to the end of the race while accumulating more valuable championship points.  During the last lap, he made a dash to move into fourth place at the finish.
“We got win number seven of the season and we did it with a broken truck – shock failure and major driver pain, but victory is sweet,” said LeDuc.  “We are going to win this championship and be smart, not throw away a season with seven wins and no championship.  It should be a smooth end to a strong year.”
“We congratulate Kyle LeDuc for pulling off a hard earned win for the team on Saturday,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.  “Kyle did a great job overcoming mechanical obstacles while remaining focused on gaining championship points.”
Only four races remain in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series - September 21 and 22 at Las Vegas Speedway, and The 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Challenge Cup weekend October 27 and 28 at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.
