Toyo increases support of NASA racing

Feb. 3, 2006

Toyo Tires has increased its support of National Auto Sport Association (NASA) road racing for 2006 by doubling the rewards to Toyo-spec class champions in each region.

In addition, the company is nearly doubling its “Toyo Bucks” rebate program for regional races with more than five starters in each class.

Toyo has been a long-time sponsor of NASA regional competition, including regional races and spec categories such as American Iron Racing, Honda Challenge and Spec Miata Challenge.

NASA provides exciting racing with large fields of cars competing for annual championship points.

According to Travis Roffler, senior director of marketing, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., “Toyo’s Proxes RA1 is designed specifically for road racing, and is known to be fast, consistent and durable. We are very pleased to continue our support of NASA’s popular road racing program.”

Toyo’s Proxes RA1 is a D.O.T.-legal competition radial that is available in a broad range of sizes fitting wheels from 13- to 18-inches in diameter. The RA1’s 8/32nds unidirectional tread can be run on wet tracks, or shaved to a 4/32nds depth for dry traction.
