Marangoni Tread N.A. holds training programs

June 1, 2006

Marangoni Tread N.A. (MTNA) has held two training programs during the first half of 2006, one for plant managers and key plant employees and one for commercial salesmen.

In March, plant managers and employees from the 23 North American Ringtread plants met in Nashville, Tenn., to participate in educational seminars.

Jerry Southergill, MTNA technical manager and Paul Hughes, MTNA service technician, designed an interactive program tailored to maximize up-time with preventative maintenance and minimize downtime with fine-tuned troubleshooting.

"One way we can contribute to the growth and profitability of our dealers is to empower their retread manufacturing staff with technical training and their sales personnel with professional selling skills and data," says Marge Connors, MTNA's sales development manager.

"The dealer whose employees are the most knowledgeable, quality-focused and service-oriented will be the most successful and bring value to their marketplace. We want to help build these qualities on multiple levels within our Ringtread dealer organizations.

"With the continued effort to automate the Ringtread system process, our machinery becomes more sophisticated and complex," says Connors. "Our plant managers and equipment operators must have a sophisticated level of expertise to improve and maintain their production schedules. We identified specific challenges faced in the retread plants of today and offered specific solutions to overcome these challenges, with focus on electrical and software fundamentals.”

MTNA welcomed 32 commercial salesmen from across the U.S. dealer network to Madison, Tenn., in April for a Ringmaster’s Spring Sales Training event.

The day-and-a-half agenda unveiled new segments of Marangoni’s training curriculum being implemented throughout the company's dealer sales network.

The group reviewed the fundamentals and performance data of the Ringtread system. They also were introduced to the Sandler Selling System from the Sandler Sales Institute.

In addition to the customized training activities, both the production and the sales group toured Marangoni’s Alpha-Ring System manufacturing plant.
