July 27, 2006

Pirelli & Cie SpA's consolidated revenue for the first half of the year totaled 2.4 billion euros, 7.2% more than during the first six months of 2005.

Pirelli's operating income totaled 216 million euros, a 6.7% increase.

The company's Pirelli Tyre division posted revenues of two billion euros, an increase of 12.4% from 1.79 billion posted during the first half of 2005. The unit's operating income from ordinary operations rose 7.5% to 201 million euros during 1Q 2006.

"The results for the first half allow the confirmation for full-year 2006 forecasts of an improvement in operating results compared with 2005, barring external factors of an extraordinary nature," say Pirelli officials.
