Nokian Tyres plc's net sales were 349.4 million euros during the first six months of the year.

That number represents an 18.3% increase over the first half of 2005.

Nokian's operating profit amounted to 48.6 million euros.

"The company is positioned to achieve its objectives set for 2006: steady growth in sales, upward trend in profits and better capital management," say Nokian officials.
