Mitchell 1 introduces emission control application guide

Nov. 6, 2006

Mitchell 1 has published its "2007 Emission Control Application Guide" (ECAT07) for domestic and import cars, light trucks, vans and Class A motor homes with gasoline engines. The guide covers model years 1966–2007.

Content features include the following:

* traction control disable procedures;

* a drive cycle section;

* the latest EPA emission recall bulletins and reference listings for major systems, devices and components; and

* I/M areas that require ignition timing and EGR function testing.

The "2007 Emission Control Application Guide" is organized by general information, emission control applications, EGR function testing, base ignition timing specifications, and EPA emission recalls. The consistent format allows users to locate information easily, regardless of the manufacturer, according to Mitchell 1.

It not only provides vehicle-specific emission system information for repair shops that perform smog inspections, but also meets the California Bureau of Automotive Repair's minimum requirements for emission control application guides used in smog check stations.
