Continental opens Canadian warehouse in suburban Toronto

Dec. 6, 2006

Continental Tire Canada Inc. has opened a 100,000-square-foot distribution center in Mississauga, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto.

The warehouse will ship to independent tire dealers, distributors and car manufacturers, including DaimlerChrysler in Brampton, Ontario, and Ford Motor Co. in Oakville, Ontario.

The facility will ship from coast to coast, say Continental officials.

"The new center is a major step for (our) warehousing operations, which were previously serviced by offices and warehouse facilities in the United States. We pulled everything out of the U.S. and brought it to Canada.

"This better serves the Canadian marketplace time-wise, through decreased delay times. Continental is a global company that is committed to the Canadian market through our expansion and the addition of the warehouse, which is a direct response to the market demand for our product."
