Rick Huseman, driver of the No. 36 Monster Energy/Traxxas/Toyota /Toyo Tires Tundra, scored back-to-back victories in the Pro 4X4 Truck class during Rounds 1 and 2 of the season opener weekend for The Off-Road Racing Championship Series (TORC). Huseman’s V8 truck produces approximately 900-horsepower, all driven through 35X12.50R17 Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires. In addition to his two wins, Huseman collected two “Oakley Bomb Run Awards” for setting the fastest qualifying times in his class each day.
“My Toyo tires worked great all weekend. The last time I was in Dallas we also had a win,” said Huseman. “The track got real rough this weekend. We just exercised patience and it paid off.”
Also having a great weekend in Texas was the LeDuc family, father Curt, and sons Todd and Kyle. The three drivers competed in all of the Pro classes and scored four podiums during the weekend with their Rockstar/Makita/Ford Trucks/Toyo Tires race trucks. Todd LeDuc finished in third place in Round 1 on Friday evening in the hotly contested Pro 2WD Truck class with fifteen trucks racing for a win. During Round 2, he finished in fourth place and banked more points toward the overall championship.
Demonstrating Team Toyo Off-Road’s strength in Pro 4X4 Truck, Curt LeDuc finish in second place during Round 1 to make it a Toyo Tires 1-2 podium, while Kyle LeDuc had a strong fourth place finish. During Round 2, Kyle LeDuc showed his consistency by finishing in third to also collect valuable points toward the championship. The young LeDuc also placed second during Round 2 in the Pro Light Truck class and scooped up an “Oakley Bomb Run Award” to make for a highly successful LeDuc family weekend.
“We congratulate Rick Huseman and the LeDucs for their outstanding start to the TORC racing series,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A.
