Falken Tire takes second at Atlanta Formula Drift
Team Falken scored another podium finish in Round 2 of the 2013 Formula Drift Championship at Road Atlanta, where team veteran Darren McNamara fought a tough battle all evening long to finish second to race winner Daigo Saito.
Forty-three entries qualified for Road Atlanta, with Falken teammates Justin Pawlak in 3rd, McNamara in 6th and Daijiro Yoshihara, winner of Long Beach last month, in 15th. McNamara, piloting his new Falken Tire Nissan 240SX, was the only team driver to advance past the Top 16 Round, and would go on to finish in second place, earning Team Falken its fourth consecutive podium finish at Road Atlanta.
“This is an important finish for us, though of course, we would have liked to have been at the top of the podium,” stated Jonathan Bradford, Team Falken’s Drift Supervisor. “But it demonstrates the consistency Falken Tire has as we move forward in this fresh season. Our Azenis RT615K tire is performing perfectly as are our the drivers and their cars – Atlanta’s outcome simply tells us that this will be a very competitive year and we need to push even harder to grab that top rung on the ladder.”
