Feb. 1, 2007

DENSO Corp.'s consolidated net sales for the third quarter of 2006 were $7.8 billion, a 14.7% increase over the same period in 2005.

Its operating income for 3Q 2006 totaled $748 million, a 3.3% increase over the same period in 2005. And DENSO's consolidated net income totaled $518 million, a 9% jump from 3Q 2005.

"Sales growth was due to an increase in domestic and overseas car production for Japanese auto manufacturers," says Koji Kobayashi, DENSO's managing officer.

In North, Central and South America, DENSO achieved an 8.1% sales increase to $1.6 billion during the third quarter because of increased sales to Toyota, Honda and General Motors.
