Cooper plant undamaged by recent flooding

Aug. 24, 2007

Recent flood waters didn't damage Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s plant in Findlay, Ohio, but they did keep some factory workers from reporting to work for a couple of days.

"Our plant is located in a high part of the city," a Cooper spokesperson told earlier today, Aug. 24. "We didn't have water damage to the plant.

"The issue we had was getting employees in for a couple of days. We had some staff limitations" due to transportation problems.

"But we were able to keep running. We're pretty lucky. It was a serious situation here in Findlay for a period of time."

Cooper's Findlay plant has the capacity to produce 15,400 light truck and 6,600 passenger tires per day, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
