Michelin North America Inc.'s Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, plant recently produced its 100 millionth unit, the Michelin LTX A/T 2, a new light truck tire.
The milestone follows expansion plans announced by Michelin this past Juy to modernize the Bridgewater plant and increase its production capacity.
The LTX A/T 2 "incorporates several Michelin innovations, including Michelin Comfort Control Technology, designed to reduce vibrations and road noise... and Michelin Advanced MaxTouch Construction," which ensures long tread life, according to Michelin officials.
Michelin's Bridgewater plant, which opened in 1973, can produce 11,000 passenger and 3,000 light truck tires per day at full capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
