SEMA Show, pre-show: TIA to help with import compliance, look-alike tires

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) passed two resolutions earlier today during its annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nev.: one to "encourage stepped-up National Highway Traffic Safety Administration enforcement of import tire compliance" and another to help tiremakers boost awareness about look-alike tires.

TIA pledged its support to tire manufacturers on both issues.

Regarding look-alike tires, TIA said it will "cooperate with any tire manufacturer that so chooses to disseminate information through shared training, publicity and any other agreed upon means."
