Consumer, dealer information highlight new Uniroyal Web site

Uniroyal's new Web site ( helps consumers quickly and easily determine the right tires for their vehicle and where to find them.

"Most consumers have a very clear, straightforward purpose when they go to a tire manufacturer Web site -- they want to determine which tires are appropriate for their vehicle and where they can buy them," said Tim Jamison, Uniroyal brand director. "So our focus was to improve navigation and utilities to deliver the right combination of value-added services and information to consumers."

To make it simple for users to find tire information, every page on the new Uniroyal site contains a "Tire Tool" section, featuring a dealer locator, tire selector tool and rotation reminder.

The tire selector tells them which Uniroyal tires are appropriate for their vehicle, and the dealer locator points them to the nearest authorized dealer. The rotation service reminder sends free e-mails to the consumer on rotation intervals so they can obtain optimum wear from their new Uniroyal tires.

The Web site also features a tire catalog with segmentation for cars and minivans, SUVs and pickups, and commercial vehicles. Through the catalog, users can quickly identify the various Uniroyal lines available for their type of vehicle, and a helpful tire review enables users to easily get more details on specific tire lines, such as product features and warranties. Modules within the tire catalog allow for cross-referencing of relevant information, and a tire comparison chart also facilitates decision-making, says the company.

Jamison said the new Uniroyal Web site also provides helpful information on tires and tire maintenance.

While the primary goal is helping consumers find the right Uniroyal tire and nearest dealer, the Uniroyal Web site also contains interesting background and photos on the brand’s 110-year heritage.

There also is a section on the brand’s comprehensive support program for youth soccer, as well as interesting facts on brand icons such as the giant Uniroyal tire in Detroit, which started life as a World’s Fair Ferris wheel.

"Visitors to our Web site will gain a good understanding of what our brand is all about and what we have to offer -– without having to do a lot of navigational work," Jamison noted.
